Pacing Verdict

The screenplay maintains a solid narrative momentum, particularly in the family dynamics and emotional beats, but the pacing is uneven. Act 1 and Act 2 effectively establish character and conflict, yet several scenes (e.g., the extended phone call with customer service, the pond visit) drag without advancing the plot. The third act accelerates well toward the climax, but the fourth act feels slightly rushed, compressing the funeral, wedding, and birth into a rapid sequence that undercuts the emotional weight of the mother's death.
