The Guided Pursuit (Anubodha)

4 films in library · Median IMDb 7.55

A story where pursuit keeps arriving at understanding. The protagonist drives forward, but the drive keeps generating revelation: insight follows doing, and the doing is shaped by what each insight reveals.

Identification Criteria
Vadi (dominant)
Ga (Pursuit), the protagonist is fundamentally in forward motion
Samvadi (secondary)
Dha (Revelation), each phase of pursuit arrives at understanding
Nyasa (closing)
Sa' or Ni, arrives at full or near-full resolution
Key marker
Ga and Dha as the two dominant registers: pursuit and revelation are the co-engines
Distinguishes from Sadhana
Samvadi is Dha (revelation), not Ma (reversal): insight is the structural partner of pursuit, not plot complication
Distinguishes from Bodha
Ga remains vadi: this is a pursuit story, not a revelation story. The protagonist moves; the insight follows the movement.

What Kind of Story This Tells

The Guided Pursuit is the archetype of the protagonist who learns by doing. Unlike The Dedicated Path (Sadhana), where the protagonist pursues with modest setbacks and the resolution is earned through sustained effort, The Guided Pursuit has revelation as its structural companion: each phase of the drive produces genuine understanding that redirects or deepens the next phase. Unlike Bodha (revelation dominant), the protagonist never stops moving. The insight arrives because of the pursuit, not instead of it.

Signature Moves

Ga and Dha alternate or run in close proximity. The protagonist advances, then understands something, then advances again with that understanding in hand. The revelations are not climactic or final: they arrive throughout the arc and shape the subsequent pursuit. The resolution at Sa' feels like both an arrival and a culmination of understanding.

Not to Be Confused With

Not The Dedicated Path (Sadhana), where Ma is samvadi and the story is about sustained effort without a strong revelation co-engine. Not Bodha, where Dha is vadi and the story is structured around revelation with pursuit secondary. In The Guided Pursuit, Ga leads and Dha follows, always.

How to Write in This Archetype

Each phase of pursuit must produce a genuine insight, not just a plot advancement. The Dha beats should feel like earned understanding: the protagonist could not have arrived at this insight without the preceding pursuit. The craft challenge is making the revelations feel like natural consequences of the doing rather than authorial interruptions.

Alternating45% of archetypeGa→Dha→Ga

Pursuit leads into revelation leads back into pursuit. The protagonist learns and then applies what they learned immediately. Most propulsive Guided Pursuit.

Progressive30% of archetype(linear advance)

Pursuit and revelation advance in clean sequence. The insight deepens linearly alongside the forward drive.

Consolidating18% of archetypeGa→Ga→Dha
