Pacing Verdict
The screenplay demonstrates excellent pacing, skillfully balancing the slow-burn melancholy of aging performers with the rhythmic energy of their stage routines. The five-act structure is well-served, with Act 1 efficiently establishing the characters' diminished circumstances and Act 3's montage sequences providing necessary momentum before the emotional climax. The only minor rhythm issues occur in the extended flashback sequences (Scenes 13-15), which momentarily disrupt the forward drive, but the dialogue's natural rhythm and the careful alternation between tension (Hardy's health, the failed film) and release (the triumphant Dublin finale) keep the narrative compelling throughout.
