Pacing Verdict

The screenplay demonstrates excellent pacing, masterfully interweaving the parallel narratives of Vito's rise and Michael's consolidation across its five-act structure. The tension is carefully modulated, with explosive set pieces (the assassination attempt, the Havana revolution) balanced by quieter, character-driven scenes that allow the emotional weight to land. While the 1915-1925 flashback sequences in Act 2 occasionally slow the forward momentum, they are essential for thematic resonance and never feel extraneous, earning a high score for narrative efficiency and rhythmic control.
