Pacing Verdict

The screenplay demonstrates excellent pacing, skillfully balancing intimate character moments with escalating dramatic tension across its five acts. The early acts establish emotional stakes and visual storytelling rhythms efficiently, while the middle sections (particularly the camping trip and its aftermath) masterfully build unease through deliberate editing and observational detail. The final act accelerates effectively toward Sammy's artistic awakening, though the transition from Phoenix to California feels slightly compressed, and the prom sequence's emotional climax could benefit from a beat more breathing room.
