Pacing Verdict
The screenplay demonstrates excellent pacing within its 4-act structure, using the disorienting repetition and variation of scenes (like the chicken, the watch, and the carer interviews) to mirror Anthony's cognitive decline without losing narrative momentum. Dialogue rhythm is masterfully varied—rapid, anxious exchanges in Act 1 give way to deliberate, painful pauses in Act 3, while the tension-release cycle is carefully managed through moments of dark humor (the tap-dancing boast) and sudden violence (the strangling fantasy). The only minor issue is a slight drag in the middle of Act 2 during the extended Laura introduction, but the efficient information delivery and seamless scene-to-scene flow keep the overall rhythm tight and emotionally devastating.
