Pacing Verdict
The screenplay demonstrates excellent pacing, skillfully interweaving the 2005 rehab timeline with the 1995 childhood memories to create a rhythmic push-and-pull of tension and release. The dialogue is sharp and propulsive, with rapid exchanges in the motel scenes that build claustrophobic energy, while the rehab sequences provide necessary breathing room for emotional processing. The only minor rhythm issue is a slight sag in the middle of Act 2 (scenes 52-56) where the rehab exercises feel repetitive, but the narrative quickly regains momentum through the escalating father-son confrontations and the haunting final act.
Narrative Archetype
Pursuit without closure. The story is about the doing, not the arriving, and it ends in ongoing tension rather than resolution.
