Pacing Verdict
The screenplay demonstrates excellent pacing, with a strong forward drive from the opening dream sequence through the fall of House Atreides and into the desert survival. Act 1 efficiently establishes the stakes and Paul's internal conflict, while Act 2 balances political intrigue, action set-pieces (the spice harvester rescue, the Harkonnen attack), and quieter character moments without losing momentum. The only minor rhythm issues occur in the extended vision sequences and some exposition-heavy scenes in the middle of Act 2, but the screenplay's structural logic—building tension toward the betrayal and then shifting to a survival and coming-of-age arc—is well-executed.
