Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Quanten Media Pte. Ltd. (“Quanten”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with your use of Quanten Arc, available at https://arc.quanten.co (the “Platform”). By using the Platform, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Use.
1. Who We Are
Quanten Media Pte. Ltd. is a company incorporated in Singapore. We build narrative analysis tools for filmmakers, screenwriters, and studios. For privacy-related enquiries, contact us at legal@quanten.co.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly. When you register for an account or use the Platform, you may provide us with personal information including your name, email address, and payment details. Account registration and authentication is managed by Clerk (clerk.com). Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.
2.2 Screenplay content. When you submit a screenplay for analysis, we temporarily receive the file on our servers solely for the purpose of generating structural arc data. The full text of your screenplay is deleted immediately upon completion of analysis. We do not read, store, redistribute, or otherwise use the full content of your screenplays beyond the automated analysis process. We retain only the derived structural data (scene-level intensity scores, act structure metadata, and brief scene-level summaries used as anecdotes in the analysis visualisation) for as long as you keep the analysis on the Platform. When you delete an analysis, all associated data is permanently removed from our systems.
2.3 Usage data. We collect limited technical information in connection with your use of the Platform. Authentication events such as login and sign-up are recorded by Clerk as part of account management. Broader usage analytics — including pages visited, features used, and session data — are only collected if you have given explicit consent via the cookie consent prompt. If you decline consent, no analytics data beyond what is necessary to operate your account is collected. See Section 6 for details on how analytics consent works.
2.4 Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and personalise the Platform. See Section 5 for full details.
2.5 Communications. If you contact us by email or through the Platform, we retain the content of your communications and your contact details in order to respond to you and, where relevant, to maintain a record of our correspondence.
3. What We Do Not Collect or Store
We want to be explicit about the following:
- We do not store screenplay content after analysis is complete. Scripts are deleted from our servers immediately upon processing.
- We do not read your screenplays. Analysis is performed algorithmically; no human at Quanten reads submitted scripts.
- We do not sell your personal data or your structural analysis data to third parties.
- We do not use your submitted screenplays to train machine learning models.
- We do not share your structural analysis results with other users unless you explicitly share them within a team workspace.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect only when we have a legal basis to do so. Specifically, we use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Platform and Services.
- Process payments and manage your subscription.
- Generate structural analysis results from submitted screenplays.
- Send transactional emails (account confirmation, receipts, password resets).
- Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support.
- Improve the Platform through analytics and usage data.
- Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.
- Protect against fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Use.
We process your personal data where: (a) you have given consent; (b) processing is necessary to perform a contract with you (e.g. your subscription); (c) processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation; or (d) processing is in our legitimate interests and not overridden by your rights.
5. Cookies
We use the following cookies on the Platform:
- arc_ga_consent — Stores your Google Analytics consent preference. Set for 365 days. Analytics are not loaded unless you have given consent.
- arc_segment — Stores your visitor segment preference (e.g. the audience category you selected on your first visit) to personalise your experience. Set for 365 days.
- arc_segment_modal_shown — Records whether the visitor segment prompt has already been shown to you, to avoid showing it on every visit. Set for 7 days.
- Authentication cookies — Set by Clerk to maintain your logged-in session. These are necessary for the Platform to function.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform. We do not use cookies to serve targeted advertising.
6. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Platform. Google Analytics is only loaded if you have given explicit consent via the cookie consent prompt on your first visit. If you decline consent, no analytics data is collected. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing the arc_ga_consent cookie.
7. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following third-party service providers, solely to the extent necessary to deliver the Platform:
- Clerk — Authentication and account management. Clerk processes your name, email address, and OAuth profile data in accordance with their privacy policy.
- Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe handles all payment card data and is PCI-DSS compliant. We do not receive or store full card details.
- Google Analytics — Usage analytics, only with your consent.
We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
8. International Data Transfers
Our third-party service providers (including Clerk and Stripe) may process your data in jurisdictions outside Singapore, including the United States. Where such transfers occur, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection law, including reliance on standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions where applicable.
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected:
- Screenplay files — Deleted immediately after analysis is complete. The full text of your screenplay is never retained.
- Structural analysis data and scene summaries — Retained for as long as you keep the analysis on the Platform. Scene-level summaries (used as anecdotes in the analysis visualisation) and structural arc data are permanently deleted when you delete the analysis. Upon account closure, all remaining analysis data is deleted within 30 days.
- Account data — Retained for the duration of your account. Upon account deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g. payment records).
- Payment records — Retained for the period required by applicable law (typically 7 years).
10. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encryption in transit (HTTPS), restricted access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Deletion — Request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal obligations to retain it.
- Objection — Object to our processing of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis.
- Portability — Request that we provide your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Withdrawal of consent — Where processing is based on your consent, withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at legal@quanten.co. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.
12. Minors
The Platform is not directed at or intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a minor without the consent of a parent or legal guardian, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us at legal@quanten.co.
13. Singapore Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA)
As a company incorporated in Singapore, we comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) of Singapore. This includes obtaining your consent where required, providing access to your personal data upon request, and implementing reasonable security measures to protect your data. For PDPA-related enquiries, contact our data protection contact at legal@quanten.co.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email to the address associated with your account and by a prominent notice on the Platform at least ten (10) days before the changes take effect. Non-material changes (such as clarifications or corrections that do not affect how we process your data) may be made without prior notice. The date at the top of this page indicates when the Policy was last revised. Your continued use of the Platform following the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
